# Resume Studio

A local resume prototype that connects job requirements to source evidence, prompts for factual additions, and requires review before an editable Word export.

## Design question

How can a resume become more relevant to a role while keeping every claim traceable to the applicant?

Separate analysis, factual supplementation, and approval. Preserve source wording and make additions visible, so the candidate remains responsible for the final story.

## My contribution

The evidence-review flow, factual confirmation steps, and document-preservation checks in a local prototype.

## Workflow

1. **Import** — Upload or paste a resume and review the extracted text.

2. **Compare** — Review source-backed strengths and gaps against a job description.

3. **Confirm** — Add factual wording and choose where it belongs.

4. **Export** — Approve the complete draft, then download Word.

## Mechanisms

**Workflow** — Local keyword and template analysis links requirements to evidence and supplies structured prompts for missing information.

**Human control** — New facts require confirmation and an explicit destination; the complete draft has a separate approval step.

**Validation** — Source-line preservation is checked against document blocks, including repeated occurrences; missing content blocks approval and export.

**Requirement** — The job asks for cross-functional collaboration.

The tool searches the submitted material for relevant evidence before suggesting an addition.

**Evidence** — Source: “Worked with engineers on a prototype.”

Keep the source wording visible; a weak match does not justify inventing leadership or an outcome.

**Confirmation** — Candidate adds: “Reviewed the prototype weekly with two engineers.”

The candidate confirms accuracy and selects the experience section where this fact belongs.

**Approval** — Review the complete draft before export.

Highlight the added line and confirm that the original source content is still present.

Text-preservation checks operate after import. They do not guarantee correct extraction from scanned PDFs or complex layouts, and the browser does not reproduce Word pagination.

## Current state and next steps

Import, source review, factual additions, full-draft approval, and Word export work in the local alpha.

Refine the interface and evaluate any future writing-model integration against the existing evidence and approval controls.

The current implementation uses local rules and templates. Its named analysis stages are not independent AI agents, and no external writing model is called.
